MTR Corporation Ltd.

MyHR serves as the comprehensive intranet platform for MTR staff, facilitating access to company news, HR and administrative tasks, and serving as a centralized repository for company policies, guidelines, and departmental information. Developed on the ServiceNow framework, MyHR is accessible through Web and Mobile views, and as a native app through the ServiceNow app.

My Roles

UI Design
In my role as the UI Designer for the MyHR project, I was tasked with the comprehensive review and redesign of the platform's user interface across all pages. My primary focus was to enhance usability by addressing existing issues, incorporating new features, and ensuring a more intuitive user experience. Working within the constraints and capabilities of the ServiceNow platform, I leveraged existing modules while balancing the need for innovation with practical limitations. This approach not only refined the platform's overall functionality but also significantly improved user interaction and satisfaction.

UAT and Iterations
During the UAT phase, I was responsible for supporting the UI aspect by meticulously reviewing the interface and identifying any discrepancies or errors related to the design to ensure that they were addressed promptly, ensuring that the final delivery met both design specifications and user expectations.

Develop UI Kit
I also developed a UI kit to consolidate design elements across the MyHR platform, ensuring consistency and streamlining communication with programmers. This kit was instrumental for maintaining design uniformity and was adapted for use in related platforms, such as the Alumni Portal and the Onboarding Platform. It also serves as a guideline for future extensions, enhancing overall design cohesion and user experience.

New Platform Logo and Promotion materials design
I have redesigned the platform logo, and supported internal promotion by designing banners and tutorial videos. This content helped communicate key messages and guide users, ensuring effective adoption and understanding of the MyHR platform.

Using Modules from ServiceNow
In the design process, I worked within the constraints of existing modules, recognizing that not all functions could be redesigned due to established user habits. Instead, I focused on reviewing and updating the majority of the UI to enhance consistency, leveraging the new UI kit for guidance.

A key highlight was the complete redesign and restructuring of the landing page, which now prominently features essential information, updated news, and offers to engage staff. Additionally, I added quick links to streamline navigation and improve the overall user experience.

Adapting to other platforms
The overall design has been refined to achieve a more professional and consistent appearance. I contributed to adapting this updated design for new platforms, including the Alumni Portal and the Onboarding Platform, ensuring a cohesive visual and functional experience across all applications. My involvement included hands-on design work for these platforms, aligning them with the improved standards set by the MyHR platform.
